Day 1 - Hatyai to Prachuap Khiri Khan 15/04/2016
Day 1- Hatyai
After a smooth 12 hours bus journey, we arrived at the Malaysia - Thailand border 'Bukit Kayu Hitam' at about 8am. Clearing Malaysian immigrations was quick but there was a crowd on the Thai side. We spent about 30 minutes clearing Thai immigrations.
We finally arrived at the travel agency 'Archipelago tours' in Hatyai at 9.30am.
We quickly unloaded and unfolded our bicycles 'Vert V8' and we were relieved that there had not been any damages during the 900km bus ride.
Met up with Ben for breakfast and went to his room where Jimmy was waiting. Whilst waiting for the 4pm checkout, we took the bicycles for a short ride around town to look for lunch. The weather was scorching hot -.- so we decided to take a tuk tuk to the Hatyai train station.
Ben had managed to get the train tickets for Train 38 which will bring us from Hatyai 6.20pm to Prachuap Khiri Khan 5.30am. The tickets costs 729b for 2nd class sleeper upper deck and 799b lower deck. We had to pay an additional 110b to load each bicycle up the cargo carriage.
We went to the meal carriage for dinner while the train staff converted our seats into bunk beds. After dinner, we played cards for a while before going to bed. Our bunks were clean with fresh bedding but the aircon was very cold.
